Best job boards for Sparks

As a recruiter I use some of the bigger job boards out there but as we expand considering signing up for more.

As sparks what would you say is your preferred job board to look for work?

All the good ones charge and arm and a leg, with no guarantee to success for a recruiter so just wondering the thoughts on you guys before I part with my hard earned?

I understand some are more aimed at particular industries but just wanting to know as a general rule where you are more likely to look 1st, where in the past you have had most success etc.

I use other tools too as sometimes they can be a bit hit and miss for me; probably the same for a lot of you too

I would suggest you always start with

Job Centre or its Direct dot Gov equivalent. FoC and a compulsory viewing for anyone out of work

Rant alert :devil: : When I started in recruitment 7 years ago direct gov was a great service for what it done; as you say FOC and helps people get back to work.

I can't speak regarding the actual job centre but their website has went downhill badly sice universal jobmatch has taken over; its awful. very little people apply for even the most menial jobs whereas it used to be constant phone calls and emails.

When it comes to skilled labour you can forget it- I get less than 0.25% applications from universal job match and even those who do apply are either not relevant to the job, or have some other reason why they have been out of work for a long time.

Be interesting to see people responses on this also due to the fact that I'm moving 135 miles from my current locations and will potentially need to look for alternative employers, contractors in the future.

I'd personally contact local electrical firm's, visit wholesalers, Google adverts, etc.

I've found CV library quite good. It's a bit different to other sites in that the jobseeker posts their CV then recruiters call them. That way the recruiter shouldn't get any 'unsuitable applicants' and the jobseeker doesn't waste time applying for jobs they've got no chance of getting.
