Ok let's try to do this without getting any "Get of you DIYer your not getting any answers from us!" I am not a DIYer.

So I was wondering how people normally connect there smoke alarms,
Do you connect the twin and earths in a junction box.
Or do you use a chock box or do you just get one of those adapter plate that gives you space to put a connector block in.
And which is the best method?

Guys come on, give the guy a chance...

Just because he may be a first year apprentice doesn't mean you need to give him a load of stick.

He asked a question, if you can't / aren't prepared to answer it properly then reply to someone else in another thread.

Agreed stuuk!! There is nothing wrong with the way it's been wired as long as all cores are connected,
I.e live neutral earth from one, ic from brown core of 2nd t&e and then earth the blue core and the remaining earth,
theres people out there that would wire it in twin and use the earth as the ic, so using two twins with all cores connected is perfectly acceptable practice!
Some people need to stop thinking they're better than others, I am a qualified spark (17th) and I say to my apprentice, I'd rather you make my ears bleed with questions than you be in any doubt over anything you do in work, just help the poor sod, and get a grip, the poor lad wants advice, not an earful!!

Fair enough. He wants advice and certainly needs it, (in my opinion). Look at his previous threads, extractor fans, smoke alarms, but he tells us he's still a apprentice, don't ya think he might just be rewiring a house?
Hopefully not for a customer but maybe for a mate or for himself?

Cheers electric will! I also agree with your point! Nadhud, if you're an apprentice doing a foreigner/homer/favour for a mate, just beware that worst case scenario is you have a soap on a rope, and you can forget the forums , the only thing you'll be 'posting' is a letter home from her majestys pleasure!! Just be careful mate, I am not in anyway doubting your ability or competence, if you ain't sure, ask someone who knows to SHOW YOU how, not explain!
