My bad! I miss read the OP. If we are talking multimeters, I've had my Kewtech kt117 for a while now and it does all I ask of it.

youm can't beat an AVO7 or 8 IMO. never get voltage readings when there's nothing there, doesn't read a resistance of parallel path when you have your sweaty mitts on the probes, reading doesn't fluctuate and never settle down. and it don't reqiure batteries to measure volts.

A bit of an unknown brand but Agilent have superb Multimeter, here is a link to a preview.

They are the largest test instrument company in the world, mainly sold in the states.

.

use a Fluke 112 in an industrial maintenance enviroment and have no complaints whatsoever, no fluctuation on readings etc. they don't make them anymore but i think the meter joshy (#9) has is the new version. at the end of the day, it probably boils down to how accurate you need to be.

I agree with teletrix Avo 8 it's analogue I must get another one, but I have a ÂŁ50.00 digi meter I bought from Maplin, auto ranging does what I need it to do and fits in my tool case. (something an Avo wouldn't)

I had a Fluke but it died. I now use my spare which is a combined Mutimeter / Current Clamp, it is a french make but cant be bothered to got out to van to look, but i know its a very good one. My new spare is an AVO, but i dont like the bright white backlight display. I will get another Fluke when i get a minute. I am a big fan of Fluke kit.

Cheers.........Howard
