Afternoon everyone, posted a few weeks ago about a DIY hodge I had been to look at. The fella who owns the house wants me to make good and bring up the system so I can wire his heating system up. The main consumer unit has had the two rcds removed because apparently 2 years ago the 'electrician' couldnt get them to stop tripping so they were removed and two 100a main switches put in place. The install it a mess. But he is trying to save money so he said about splitting tails and running in another consumer unit just for the heating, all very well but the installation such a dangerous mess I dont know if it's right to leave it and just do the new heating board, would this even be allowed to be left? I have explained that it is dangerous and a mess, he says there is some sockets in the house which pop and fizz etc, how can I just do a 4 Way for the heating and ignore the rest of the house? Obviously I'll only be liable for the installation I doing but I don't think I could sleep at night knowing that I've left the rest. What would be the best thing to do? Sorry for the long post!
