best way

hi all newbie on here 1st post
im 40 years old and for the last 8 years been doing an electricians mate role
and also pat testing(i have the 2377 )
a friend of mine owns a nic approved contractors company and has offered me
a job as long as i start a training program and become an electrician
whats the best way forward for someone my age? what qualifications do i need?

you can still go to college and become an approved spark as you have the 1 thing going for you that quite a few on here dont and thats experience i stated college at 26 but there was lads on my course who were in mid 30s. despite popular belief the age cap for apprentices has been scrapped so u can sometimes get you college fees paid i have im just doing my last year of a 2330 tech certificate and they have given me the nvq l3 for free as well my advice is go to your local college and ask they are very helpfull
