Hi everyone ,ive applied to work for British gas and just wondered if anyone here has taken the 30 question regs test and if so how hard is it,i had to answer 6 questions on the regs in a telephone interview and they were really easy so just wondered if the other 30 are the same ,if not what are the main questions like and what should if need be brush up on many thaks .

I spent 2 weeks at a training place when I started for BG, I worked in the W Midlands area, we were told that we are not sales men the one day.
The next day we had 2 sales people saying we get points for selling new DBs etc.
I worked for BG for 6 weeks, the customers hated the service, don't know if it has changed.

No it hasn't. The gas fitter I had round to quote for a new boiler also tried to condemn my electrical system in several ways he couldn't explain in any way shape or form, and flog me a boiler at double the normal price along with a package I "didn't have to have" but couldn't remove from the quote because "it's all in the price"

Absolute conmen in my experience.

Just changed a board in a house that presented a N-E fault- clearly needed clearing so hunted it down. Heating circuit.

wiring junction box.

fitted by BG recently.

on a monthly payment plan.

one of the two winding ends of the servo on a zone valve (both blue cables ) shoved into a connector with aload of earths.

i guess it worked so he left it.

close but no cigar.

crock of shhhhh0yte.

30 questions are not too hard, you were allowed to take in regs and on site guide (I think), within the 30 questions were 3 killer questions though (you had to get these correct)

you may have seen their new heating product 'HIVE' advertised recently, electricians are fitting these also (not too hard and you get some training on it ) may be worth looking at that, so you have some knowledge in interview.

not a bad company to work for.

A mate of mine is a pipe monkey and works for BG, he told me there is immense pressure to sell to everyone they come into contact with. He's trying very hard to get out.
Beware because if you don't meet your sales targets they can and will sack you.
