Hi Folks,

Anyone here used the BG Nexus Range of accessories? If so, what are your thoughts on these?

Cheers

Personally I think they look great, bit of a struggle to get hold of em at a decent price around here tho, I was getting them off discount-electrical but they are stopping doing em. Wholesalers up the road want 2.30 a socket when compared to the 1.75 I was paying off above is a p*** take.

Cheers

Matt

ps the pearl range from meteor look similar but I havent used em so couldnt comment on quality

We use them all the time, look smart and are good quality.

We've been using them for a couple of years, but we're having loads of problems with them. Sockets blowing 32A MCB and the RCD in one go when switching the socket off under load (Iron Plugged In) its happened a few times at different properties, we've been in touch with BG and we're having to send them all back for analysis.

thanks for the heads up, haven't experienced this yet, will have to be on the lookout. Any idea if they are all from the same batch or where they bought at different times?

Hi,

I would just like to clarify roukel1's comment.... the product he is talking about is the BG Nexus with regards to being bad quality.

The pearl range has been on the market since mid march this year and we are yet to have any quality issues what-so-ever.

had a similar problem with bg nexus sockets 2 years ago sockets blow up when switched off under load, had bg out to job and they took them away for testing. problem is only with single pole sockets and they say it was a spring that should not of been fitted to unit. used double pole sockets ever since and never had the problem repeat

THe ones I'm using are double pole. I'm still awaiting an answer from BG.
