BG - passed online assessment & telephone interview, what now?

Hi all, my name is James - new to the forum here. I don't know if any of you have had any experience with the British Gas application process but I've recently applied for a Trainee Smart Meter Installer position. I successfully passed the online application and passed the telephone interview with flying colours this afternoon - I was just wondering what the final hurdle would be like and how competitive / what chance I would have of getting in?

The interviewer advised me that I would be asked to attend an interview session at Thatcham if I was selected to go through and this would be in late October or early November for a mid January start.

last year i passed the assesment on line and was booked in for assesment at thatcham so i booked time of at my present job only to be told 1 day before assesement that the position was filled and not to bother going !!!! this was for a electrical job.I have been told they prefere the young ones so being a oldie i was up against the cosh any way !!!! go for it and good luck bud

Many thanks for your reply and details of your experience! They are employing in my area of Cornwall & West Devon in regards to Smart Meter installation but I checked their job postings in the news and I think they've only around 2600 places available COUNTRYWIDE! I've got all my fingers crossed! Thanks once again!

Hi all, they do tell you if you've passed or not at the end of the test. I'm not really able to say much but they ask you questions to confirm the details you've entered in your application and some general questions about yourself and then a literacy test.
