Birds Nests

With the nesting season fast approaching and birds already building nests I was wondering if anybody had experienced or found birds nesting beneath solar panels. House Sparrows, Starlings favour the under tile edge type site and whilst under PVs would be on tile, some birds might not be that bothered,seeing the brackets, rails and cables as very suitable nest site possibilities. Could be a nuisance as problem I see is one of impeding air flow and panels possibly overheating and loosing efficiency.

Unlikely to be a problem in my opinion. Potential nest sites under an array are limited and wouldn't be favoured by traditional hole nesters such as starlings, house sparrows etc. anyway - too exposed.

I got an email from a pets control firm offering there services to remove them.

But I am a good shot with a pellet gun myself !

we have loads of birds nesting under the tiles below our PV array and haven't had any sign of them even thinking about nesting below the panels themselves in 2 nesting seasons. I think it's probably just that bit too open or something.

Yes ive come accross this - had to remove some panels in Morecambe from one of my earlier jobs for roofing works and there was a nest under the panels - resting against the rail, must admit i was surprised to see it.
