Morning fella's

Had a bit of a bizzare fault yesterday afternoon, Just trying to think ahead what it could be, I'm going to do a board change after bathroom/kitchen work ive done, 16th ed split load to 17th.

Volex split load, 100A main switch & 80A RCD, 7 circuits non rcd porotected and 3 protected, on the non protected side there is two 20A radial socket circuits wired in 2.5mm, CPN breakers, on the protected side there is one 20A radial socket circuit 2.5mm, The rcd was troublesome and would not reset, so i changed it for a contactum but had the same problem, whilst flicking breakers to find a fault I noticed that even with the DP RCD in the off position if the 20A CPN Breaker on the un protected side of the board was on then the outgoing terminal of the 20A radial MCB on the protected side was live!, despite the RCD being off.

The board change from 2026 to 16th in 2007 is a rough job, is it just a case of the last guy trying to split the ring and there still being an interconnection?
ive got a 4 hour slot on monday to try and find it, im hoping an IR test between the two sides will find it.
Also the RCD does not trip and the contactum RCD would not either, there is also another 1 way RCD to the garage, that does not trip either, have a good ze at source of 0.09 for a TNS and polarity is good

Agree with wirepuller. Possibly a cpc or neutral fault at some point and the "electrician" thought he could split the ring into 2 radials, rather than find the fault. Either that, or someone just got in a muddle and thought they were 2 radials at some point in the past.
As said, full testing of all circuits before going any further.
