I got three STP12000-TL10 tri power units and asked at time of purchase are these set up for uk G59
Yes was the answer

Lads set them up and switched on and i made a call to their technical dept in germany with the serial numbers and lo and behold
they are preset for germany

WTF!!!!

Now i have to get a grid guard code number from germany, a laptop with bluetooth and sunny boy explorer and manually set them up

Anyone else ever had to do this??

Help would be much appreciated, feel a bit let down with my supplier considering we did ask

Yes, have done this. If you do not have a Grid Guard Code, then it takes about 3 days to process. The rest of the configuration is painless. As far as I am aware you can just upload the UK firmware to the inverter.

Are you sure you can't set the inverters up from the dials inside?

Whereabouts is your install?

I think you can with the dials but after its been on for more than 10hours its set and the only way ive been told to change it is by using the software, i phoned technical with the serial no's just to check i had uk settings on it

its at site near moffat

Yeah, just set the internal dials to 5 and 8. Mind you, if you haven't done this in the first few hours of operation I believe a laptop, a grid guard code and a bluetooth dongle is your only option....

Moffat! I was going to offer to come along and reconfigure them but I think that may just be outside my range! Maybe you could ask a local firm that already has a grid guard code to come and sort it?

got my grid guard code from sma biggs, heading off there tomorrow to try and reset to G59 i see the 5 and 8 is the setting for G83 i take it thats the settings for the equivalent G59 for uk

ill get you some moffat toffee its very nice!!
