BNI Networking?

been invited to go one their meetings at 6.45 wed morning

is any one here a member of this organisation and has it been a good experience?

or are any other networking events more profitable?

Was invited to one a while back with a mate of mine who was the spark within the group (im sure they only allow one trade into each group).

It was not really my cup of tea, each person was allocated 60 seconds to sell there business by standing up in front of everyone (most of them in shirt and tie and i was there with the standard issue sparky workwear)

And then the business cards where handed out to everyone.

The existing members gave there tally for the week of who gave them work and who they referred work onto and did it follow onto anything on there 3 part slips.

In my opinion only certain trades do ok out of it

Funny this thread should start I've just been invited to one and yes it is only 1 trade per networking - the only thing with this though is speaking in front of people that early - but hey if it brings in work

hi chaps been to the Durham BNI and its as friendly bunch (althought the finance and banking people seem clicky) i went as a guest and as a substitute for some body else!

already a sparky in the durham one so i cant join but im friends with him so we bounce work between each other etc!
