HI there
I have a small problem
I have a wind turbine and a toe behind charger both of which need 12v 3amps to activate the charging coils
to do this I use a 12v 7amp battery no problem so far but when the wind blows the turbine puts out 0-14v 0-30amps
which is no good for the small battery the excess power is supposed to go to the main charging panel
but I need to stop the high voltage and high amps going to the small battery but the small battery needs about 3amps
for charging it self
I was wondering if I needed a diode or something similar
I have added 2 attachments with the wiring diagram on
hope you can help

hi a blocking diode will prevent any charging to to 7 a/h battery so waste of time......you will need a current limiter charger to the battery, wich basically switches off when charging is complete

Have you considered a battery to battery charger so you take the power from the main battery via controller to charge the smaller battery? Thus all the charging power only goes via main battery which is already controlled.

thanks for your idea would I put a blocking diode in the circuit were I have indicated on the drawing
also what sort of controller would I need for the small battery
thanks
