I looked at a job today and noticed the boiler in a small bathroom was plugged into a socket that had been put in an an extra by the look of it. I know that a socket is allowed in the bathroom but has to be 3mts away from zone 1. This room isn't 3mts big though. Is replacing the socket to a switched fuse spur acceptable? Or what should be done?

Cheers

Looking at the on site guide if it 0.6mts away from the shower it shows it being outside of zone 2. A switched spur should be adequate then as the boiler will be permanently connected and in an area that will avoid any water jets. Am I right in thinking this?

The circuit is not protected by an rcd .

if you fit a FCU, you will need to add RCD and check earthing and bonding, replace if needed, and notify LABC. cost will most likely make the customer say b******s, and you'll need to walk away.
