I understand the regs say that any switch gear (unless it's SELV or PELV) in zone 2 is not permitted but I was thinking maybe the enclosure negates this, as it is acting as a barrier from the bathtub.Sometimes ok,
have you re read special locations?
That's a good call actually, Thanks! How about an IP rated one that can be padlocked off ?
What do you mean by a “boiler enclosure”?
Is it in a room off the bathroom with a substantial door, or within something like a kitchen cabinet?
It's a renovation of an old property and I don't think the builder can be bothered relocating the boilerI don’t think the boiler should be in that location, never mind the point
They might be cowboys but they are not pointing a gun at you .It's a renovation of an old property and I don't think the builder can be bothered relocating the boiler
After discussing with the client, the spur will be outside of zones so all good. They might be cowboys but they are not pointing a gun at you .
if you don’t think it’s safe,
I have addressed this issue and the client has agreed to move the bathtub so the boiler is completely out of reach. (Poor builder)More to the point, is the boiler suitable for the zone it is in?
YOU tell them....not they tell youIt's a renovation of an old property and I don't think the builder can be bothered relocating the boiler
