IM sure a read or have it in my head that a supply to a boilor in a hiuse for example must be of a fused spur and not a plugtop and socket.

i cant seem to find a reg though to confirm my point.

any help or advise please :)

I think you are right but as usual i cant be bothered going to get the book. I fit SFCU's for boilers and if i come across one with a plug and socket then i change it. To be honest i think a SFCU is preferable to a socket because it stops the boiler from being unplugged. I cant see any reason why there would be a reg to prevent plug and socket, after all its only another appliance. But i have been wrong before!

My colleague did this yesterday. I looked at him askance and he said ' the customer asked for it!'. Also couldn't fing a Reg to contradict this, so had to leave it, despite not liking it.:mad:
