Bonding

Hi, I'm looking at a job which has no bonding at all! its a farmhouse and barn conversion that's been knocked into one long property. the building is 40m long and has two water supplies and a gas. Normally its just a 10mm to each pipe at the isolation point I know but at 40m away, would an earth rod be acceptable at the one furthest away and the usual at the end nearest the mains? If I cross bonded the pipework at the boiler could this create an issue? What are your thoughts?

an earth rod wouldn't be acceptable for equipotential bonding purposes.

Put 16mm bonding conductors in, are you sure the boiler needs bonding? what type of supply TT? I should imagine

Unless specified otherwise by the DNO then a 10mm should be fine

Installing an earth rod and then connecting it to the pipe will only serve to ensure that the pipe becomes extraneous and requires bonding!
I would strongly recommend getting someone who understands the principles of earthing and bonding to assist in the design as you appear to be be working outside of your knowledge.
