Hi folks, Bonding. If an installation has a lack of/no bonding or bonding conductors too small, have we a duty to upgrade/install bonding were necessary before any works commence even if the customer doesn't want it doing or won't pay for it? Or can this be noted some were on any official test certificates? Or would you walk away from the work until they agreed to have the relevant works done to meet current regs? Your thoughts, thanks.

lack of main bonding must be rectified. no ifs or buts. you would be leaving the installation in an unsafe condition. frequently, however undersized bonding may be left as long as 1. you can verify it's continuity and correct connections. 2. it is adequate when calculating the minimum size of the main earthing conductor and ensuring its no less than 1/2 of that.
