In the 60’s & 70’s Brook Crompton used to issue a small pocket book to industrial apprentices. It was always referred to as the little red bible.
If you can find a retired electrician and ply him with a few drinks you may get him to part with his copy. NO you can’t have mine! It covered installation, maintenance and faults. OK no fancy electronic stuff but good basic information.
In the mid 90’s I moved to a new company. The apprentice asked me a question for his homework. I just sent him to the managers office and told him to ask if the manager had a copy of the bible, he goes off giving me funny looks. Comes back holding a little red book and the answer to his question. Not ½ hour later the managers there wanting his book back!
