Guys, I'm looking for recommendations for a mid priced bore scope - any suggestions? Will be in general sparkying use.
Cheers.

Got a Durofix and it seems fine.Bought it secondhand on Ebay.I find the trouble with borescopes is its hard to tell what you are looking at half the time.Looks like the surface of the moon sometimes and burnt cables turn out to be very large cobwebs.

Yeah, already use mirror/torch, but had a few situations where the scope would have been much better. Have you used the USB scope suggested?
regards

I have a similar one this was recommended to me from another forum as the one I have is only about a metre and a half long

I think at the lower end of the range they are all pretty similar, it is only when you move up to the costly cameras that you get the next improvement.
You need one with a good light as I find my cheap one just cannot give the light output to see what is there but if you can get a torch (or a cable rod light) in there it is much better.

Thanks Richard - I borrowed a high spec one a couple of years back and think my expectations have been set too high. I can't justify the cost of a higher end one, hence looking for feedback. Funnily enough I've just got the led attachment for my cable rod, so that with a mid range unit might do the business.

The Ryobi Tek4 Scope isn't too bad. Rechargeable battery, good light on it as well. If I recall it was around ÂŁ45+vat from cpc.co.uk

Their website is a pain in the hoop to navigate through though

My mate got a snap-on camera thing ages ago, he said look at this new toy, so I get him to hold the screen bit and I poked it in my mouth like you do... He then said I poked that up by mum last night... I'm pretty sure he was joking. Moral of the storey, be careful what you put in your mouth.

There is a hospital consultant wanting to shove one of those things up my arris shortly.

If I can, manage it I'll smuggle it out for you.

It'll be yours for a pint or three. ;)
