cheers people..esp Gaz for 'remember me' tip.. I'll have another bash at intro but make it more concise..
Did 7 years as sparky inc apprenticeship before being made redundant 1983
Moved into IT as it was the 'bees knees' at the time.
Did 22 years predominantly as systems engineer in mainframe/mini environment, ended up in a techie support role and then slid sideways into sales (thought if you cant beat em may as well join em).
Packed it all in 2005 to start my own property company (i.e. buy/sell/rent houses). All was rosy but now thanks to to$$ers at FSA and general lending restrictions I've quickly gone from hero to zero!!!!
I wont starve but I need to work and get some money in (don't we all). I'm not too proud to move from collar and tie back to pulling my wire in someones loft (haha), however my strengths would be more akin to marketing and developing a business, either my own or perhaps someone else's?.
In my former days I did C&G A, B and C cert (C was 'Technician grade' I believe), recently did the 17th Edition part time and passed exam.
In short-term I'm looking to get accredited so can get some local work (prob opt for ELECSA as seems to be a fairly seemless process), then we'll see what happens from there.
So to end, I'm interested in finding 3 kinds of people on here...
1. Business owners who might have a role to create or fill, in order to ramp up the amount of business they win.
2. Seem to be a LOT of newbies doing domestic courses. I may be interested in anyone who could do with occasion work in and around Birmingham only (at this stage).
3. Anyone who's looking to buy residential property at 10%-20% below market value Birmingham area only. ** apologies if this is considered spam - if so please accept my apologies and of course feel free to edit this bit out
If I see something relevant to me or my experience, I'll try and chip in with some tips or advice as time permits..cheers to all. Pat
