hi, ive got a bosch 36v combi drill and it slips in 1st gear only, i can stop it with my hands without my wrists breaking. 2nd gear is fine, no probs. i have used in on a cable strippin tool where it wo starting and stopping alot in a short space of time. does it sound like a new motor?

I can only guess it damaged torque/clutch control, if works fine in second it not likely to be motor.

ps It made me laugh how you attain that its not working properly in that it dosnt break your wrists... hope you dont employ this method all the time or your in for a painful lesson :bomb2:

It sounds like a gearbox fault to me, 1st gear mis-meshing or stripped. If it was a clutch or torque control issue 2nd gear would be effected also. Contact your local Bosch service centre for an accurate diagnosis.

goin to take it apart at the weekend. gear box is 1st place to look i rekon. like u said, most likely a striped cog, dont supose any1 knows if you can just buy seperate cogs, the full gear unit is bout ÂŁ100 ish. if 2nd didnt work then i could jusify, but just 1st, probably not
