the robusta series is out of stock?

they look good to be fair, i would like to compare them to the new brushless makita with 5amp batteries

Out of stock in southern Africa. I actually suspect they've never been in stock. 8 weeks order time :(

Not sure how they'd do in a head to head with the Makita, I have a range of Bosch 18v Li-i cordless tools already so I'm kinda tied in unless I want to buy new batteries and charger etc. I've had problems with Makita batteries and their local agents with battery warranty claims in the past so I'm very loathed to jump back to Makita anytime soon.

The Bosch Li-ion batteries I have are mostly 4Ah and a couple of 2.3Ah as well and they are good. I used my circular saw the other day for cutting 4 mm aluminium tread-plate, I was getting about 12 full sheet length cuts to a single battery which was more than I was expecting.

yeah the pre star batterys were supposed to be terrible because if one cell got under charged (usually the charging circuit drained it)

then it was goosed.

touch wood ive had 5 batteries for nearly 2 years and no problems bl1830 3amp

they have just released 5amp so improved on the design again,

go for what you feel comfortable with
