Guys what is the breaking capacity on an old Wylex type 2 MCB the ratings are 5,15,30 and I take it they are BS3871

more like 3 or 4 KA. it may have it on the side, M3 = 3kA, M4 = 4kA etc.

yep , M6 > 6kA

trhose are the later flip switch ones. the push button ones are a lower BC.
