Have my FICA (Scottish AM2) on Monday/Tuesday and starting to wind myself up about it! Anyone done it recently and have some pointers?

I know it's no use, it's just the way I'm wired(!) I feel that I've revised all I can, it's just the waiting inbetween. I've got a 5/6 hour journey to Aberdeen (nearest place that FICA can be sat) tomorrow in the snow to look forward to as well!I do not know about the specifics of the test, but I do know it is not useful to wind yourself up about it.
You are competent in what you do, you know what is required. Keep revising and practising and all will be well.
You will have the forms to complete for inspection and testing and these tell you what tests are required and in what order you need to do them.
If you are unsure you can check in the on site guide.
Fault finding is generally not too taxing, you just need to approach logically even if you feel you are covering more than you need to, but make sure they are relevant tests based on what you are told about the fault.
Installation is something you already know about just remember to provide the circuits as you are told they need to be.
The motor circuit has a diagram, just follow it.
Best of luck and be relaxed and confident on the day.:wings: I am sure you will fly through!
OK if you cannot fix that wiring fault! then consider it a way to build your energies ready to unleash them on a satisfactory completion.
The journey is a bit of a bind and I am assuming you will have to drive so drive carefully and steadily and try not to get distracted by the test.
I was recently thinking about a job I was doing, thinking about a job I was planning tomorrow and then things shifted in the cab and my head torch got turned on, I turned to look at it and totally forgot I was on a very winding road, jolly nearly lost the lot and only because I managed to hit a farmers track as I went over the bank did I not total the vehicle.
Try to avoid this if you can!!
Arrive and ensure you know where the test centre is located so that you are not searching Monday morning.
get plenty of rest and fluids and do your best to ensure you do not need to go back to Aberdeen again!
Journey was perfect yesterday, road was surprisingly clear all the way bar the odd icey patch.
Day 1 over today and 2 of 6 sections done (assessment of safe working practices & composite installation).
Happy with what I achieved, finished with time to spare and fairly confident everything is correct, including motor control circuit (no experience except college) - will find out tomorrow during functional tests after I&T!
