British Gas application turn around

installed for a customer who has just sent off application for BG via email. He has had a automated email suggesting that they will respond to applications within 28 days - missing off the end of the month cut off.

Previous customers with BG had a very quick turnaround and i don't recall any of them reporting this automated message.

Any one know if they are working quicker than 28 days - or are they now dragging their heels?

My understanding is the application will be accepted on the receipt of the email date, so they will get the tariff rate at that date.

That's exactly our experience.

Another note about BG they no longer accept applications from non BG customers, just had a customer loose nearly 2 months revenue due to this.

only from other big 6 customers I am assuming though? As they have to take customers from non FIT licencees.

I've just found this on the British Gas website, it should clear up any queries.

What to do if you are not a British Gas customer
For British Gas to supply your Feed in Tariff:

• British Gas must have installed your generation equipment.

or

• You must have an existing British Gas Energy supply or Services Product.
• Your current energy supplier is not a FIT Licensed Supplier.
