coming up to 28 days since contacting british gas for the first time
the guy on the phone said cheque can take 28 days to arrive

its about 25 days ago, what experinces have others had?

we can get men on the moon but cannot make fit payments via bank transfer :(

because the world is run by accountants we call this money management a bit like the banks lending your money on deposit overnight to Asia as a short term loan

My business partner's FIT is with British Gas. His cheque regularly arrives at the 26-28 day mark!

im with BG too and am expecting a payment end of this month from the start they have been pretty good and spoton so i will slate them after the 30 days lol

Not like EON then - they've really dropped the ball recently. Over 40 days since last FiT reading and no payment. They give themselves 45 days to make payment. Judging by comments on another forum I'm not the only one, and they're even missing their 45 day deadline in some cases.

Perhaps I should try this with my Electricity bill, sorry I'll pay you in 45 days... probably.

SSE asked me to send another reading when I chased my first overdue payment. Did so then 2 weeks later got a cheque, for the lower first reading, DOH.

Bet they try and take the higher reading off the next payemnt :uhoh2:

System registered with EDF in Dec still no paperwork other than to say that it was registered and qualified, no first payment apparently there FiT terms say they only have to pay once per year! email has just arrived with terms so off to read before berating them.

How crap are they

Rang them to say WTF is happening the other day, dropped in that I had already had two payments from Good Energy for another system, they said ahh well we were very busy before the FIT cuts!

Werent we all!! but at least we've got through the paperwork inside of 6 months

Looking to move straight away to Good Energy but dont want to move until Ive read the contract and I'm sure that nothing will be lost!

careful with BG at the moment, there automated system is faulty so any readings you submit will not be counted. I have had 8 systems with them since Nov, only had 2 payments to date totaling £450, they are in a bit of a mess I believe.

Is BG a monthly submission and payment then? Ive never used them, I generally put everything on Good Energy now so we can do automatic submission direct from meters

excuse my ignorance i havnt looked at good energy! my payments from BG are setup quarterly

we received our first FITs payment from BG and it only took about a week or so ,
I was very surprised it arrived so quick.
The one month sedgy is referring to is at the old rate of 43.3 with the remainder on the new higher rate of 45.4 per unit

dont you just love inflation when you have an index linked , tax free payment,

I installed PV for British Gas for 2 years until recently when I abandened ship. Bristish Gas Solar is a shambles, good installers, just from the office up a total shambles. Glad you guys are impressed with your FIT payments I envied everyone of the customers I installed at.

dont forget its 28 'working' days ..i got mine within 3 weeks ..march 8th to june 8th = £601.22 , well chuffed..

Have now waited 42 days for Eon payment :-(. Last time only waited 35 days. Will ring them on Monday 10/7 if money not received - feel pretty annoyed and not impressed by their excuse of installing new software. Don't think that excuse would work if I dlayed payment on my fuel bill.

Not had a payment from eon yet since november, first meter reading was lost and still waiting since my second meter reading 50 days ago. Twice they said they look into it and get back to me but never heard from them.

Wonder what we can do about this - it is disgraceful. Can anyone suggest a course of action against Eon to make them pay up (and any others not paying for months)
Has anyone on here had a payment from eon in last 3 months?

im pretty sure they have broken a rule there you will have to find out what there timescale for payments are.

British Gas have a 6 week backlog on processing FIT applications.

They are currently very busy, due to an increase in FIT applications.

Payments may take longer than usual.

Eon has finally sent me what i will get paid 57 days (8wks) after my meter reading but still got up to 11 more days before its paid into my bank account.

Go onto their website, find the section on "how to make a complaint" and start the formal complaint process. If they don't respond in the timescales stated, next step is the energy ombudsman.

There's also the small claims court - the threat of which can sometimes make companies take notice.

I know this has been joked about before, but what if you really witheld payment on your elec bill until the cheque has been issued. I reckon they would sort it out straight away. I know 2 breaches of contract don't make a right but it gets their attention.

When they were setting up my payments, they asked if I would like a cheque, direct bank transfer or for it to be deducted off my elec bill. I went with cheque so I could monitor the payments.

My FIT provider is BG and my first cheque arrived in less than a week, the second took about 26 working days and my last one took around 2 weeks.

Overall I'm not complaining apart from them still not being able to do direct bank transfer as it takes me about another 2 weeks to get the cheque cleared through my savings account.

My latest cheque arived on the 5th working day after submitting the reading so very fast & couldnt ask for better than that. The meter reading was submitted via website rather than on an email as before.
