Downstairs circuit. No end to end continuity on L, N & E. In C.U 2 cables to MCB and every socket checked for end of circuit in case 2 raidels were run instead. Only one socket in ktc with one cable and this was a spur from another socket that has 3 cables.

This is roughly what the circuit looks like.

The floors are laminate so my thoughts are to seperate each side and have them on 2 20A MCB's raidels.

Ahh the joys of ring circuit fault finding...

As you say, maybe not a ring at all.

Try disconnecting one leg and take loop readings at the live sockets to see what order they are connected in and maybe find the last one on the line. Then try the other leg and see if the end sockets are next to each other.

2 20A radials would probably be the easy fix if the disconection times etc are ok.

well there are 2 cables that are dead and have no conti at sockets A and B on the diagram attched. I guess that cable is broken some where. there seems to be a door that was moved a while ago so it could be somone cut the cable there. Cant be 100% where it goes due to the laminate floor. if there is no conti to those 2 ends surely they should go together?
Zs on one side of .58 and 1.4 on the other. Max Zs allowed on a 20A 60898 type B is 2.3 ohms

So maybe try this - identify the two feeds at a & b, pull the legs out of the cu and link out p-p, n-n, e-e then check for continuity at a to b. If you get some, you could fit a temporary link then do a propper cross link check to see if that makes the ring good....

Whats your woodwork like that floors gonna be a beach if you need to take it up...

Be careful if they have butchered the you might just have two live cables floating about under the floor
