I have recently carried out an EICR on an old building, one of the main DBs is an old Bs3036 board with 3 phases.

When testing Ze i measured 0.06 and a PFC of 3.8ka giving a measured value of 7.6ka (as its 3 phase)

Obviously the fault current is too high for the fuses, but can you take into account the suppliers fuse if a fault of such current were to occur? So the old MEM 3036 board wouldn't have to be upgraded?

Thanks

The protective device must be able to withstand the fault current where it is installed. Bs 3036 are rated between 1 and 3 KA. I take it as worst case 1KA. If your readings are at DB then the board should be up graded. The suppliers fuse could be much bigger than the bs 3036 allowing high fault current to flow which could lead to fuse exploding.

If the shared neutral is lost ,won`t you be getting 400v across both cottages? 2 phase US style but double the Voltage.
