Hi Guys

Could anyone tell me where i can find the max zs permitted for a bs3871 m.c.b?, cant seem to find it in the regs?,

Thanks J:confused:

There is one other thing,
On the same P.I.R,
There is a cooker control switch, no socket, much less than 300mm away from the hob.. would you put this down as a code? poss 4,?

As long as it isn't directly over the hob then I would not code it.

BS 7671 makes no reference to the '300mm' rule of thumb, that's the electricians guide to the building regs.

No, there is no minimum distance stated in the Regs, it's more a case of good practice.
Code 4 is for something that does not comply with the Regs, but is not necessarily unsafe.
As such it could be an observation without a code.

max ZS = 230/ ( 50xIn ) but that's type 4. other types, different values.

Ok, thanks everyone for the advice, think i will just put it in as an observation as it is 50mm from edge of hob and gets warm to the touch from the nearest ring.
By the way, the guy that did the electrics on this one , guess what , not part p reg........but he was the cheapest.....apparently!
