O

Octopus

Last week BT came out and installed BT Infinity – and yes, its nice and quick. Yesterday our “BT Home Hub” decided to stop working and according to BT it will be Wednesday, at the earliest, before a replacement Hub arrives.

I’ve tried my old D-Link Router and a Belkin but neither have the RJ45 connection for the broadband connection to the BT Infinity box!

Does anyone know if I can put a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] party router/wifi box between the BT infinity box and my network?

I’ve got kids with homework to do and I use email for the business and also we have a Vodafone Sure signal so our mobiles work at home!!

Thanks.

The BT "wizzards" have condemed the unit hence why I'm stuck. In fact the flashing lights on the unit don't resemble any of the "trouble shooting" examples either.

THE FIX

I've bought a Belkin N300 R DB (which stated on the box "for BT infinity & cable conections) - within 5 minutes of getting home I had it installed and could then reset all our wifi devices to the new network.

Next to get some money out of BT and looking on the bright side, once BT deliver a new home hub, I'll have a spare unit.
