Hi second question of the evening. A master bt point wires to AB want to replace for a master in chrome do the wires go to 2 & 5.

Yes, but the chrome replacement must be a master type, not a slave

If your master socket has any extensions connected to it then replacing the BT NTE5 may cause some problems if your line develops a fault as the NTE5 acts as the external line test point

Yep master 2 and5, slave 2 5 and (3 ring wire)

Only if you want to reduce your broadband speed due to the interference it causes and if you have a faceplate type ADSL / vDSL filter then most of these disconnect the ring wire

Admittedly I am currently under the influence of cider, but I can't see anything in there which relates to a consumer having a master point replaced with one of their own. It appears to only concern the ownership and operation of the public telephone networks /systems as a whole

If an master NTE5 has been fitted by BT, it should not be interfered with, basically this is an demarcation point between BT and customers own wiring and accessories/ BT network.
