Silly question probably, but, anyone seriously affected by the budget?

Personally i think its going to hit hard, although, i think they did say it would.

Time to reduce the amount of goodies :D

Budget 2010: the winners - Yahoo! Finance

Think everyone will be hit but if the previous government have left the country in such a state then we will have to pay the consequences.

It was the same when they last got into power before Maggie Thatcher, they nearly bankrupted the country after the previous conservative government going out leaving the country quite solvent.

And look what good maggi thatcher done shutting down all the unions ffs. It's easy to blame whoever was in last let's see what mess the conservatives make.

No increase in beer smokes and diesel:D what a pleasant surprise. Right now wont make much difference to me. That will change in Jan when the VAT goes up. I also think they missed a trick, they should have started to tax benefits at the same rate as earnings including making them pay NI. Scroungers need a good kick up the bum hole. I dare say come January beneifits will increase to cover the increase in VAT so the lazy fat scroungers can still afford their big tellys, fast food, ale and cigs:mad:

He did say that alcohol, baccy and fuel were only untouched until the autumn budget.

Besides the VAT increase I have lost some child tax credits, but will gain in other ways so I'm fairly untouched.

But do you not pay VAT on these so when VAT goes up to 20% these will go up as well it was no increase in duty on these 3 things that did not increase otherwise it would have been a double whammy.;)

He might not have announced fuel duty increases but Darling did

The AA, meanwhile, complained that scheduled fuel duty increases in October and January and the VAT increase would still increase motoring charges.
