I need to put together a builder's board, and I thought it'd be worth asking if anyone had any tips or handy additions to include.

I'm thinking a two-way board mounted onto a stand or 'A' frame. A 32A mcb supplying a double socket and a 16A supplying a single, both labeled and mounted onto the board. Metal boxes and face plates as it will inevitably get knocked or dropped at some point. A 10mm earth cable to take back to the MET, and a henley block to couple the power to. I was also thinking of mounting a low wattage light on it to indicate when it's live, and also give a bit of light to the surrounding area.

So anything else that would be useful?

my suggestion would be to use some 10mm HO7 to connect the whole thing to a 32A blue commando, then you can just run it from 32A extension cable as needed, and the 10mm CPC would save you the trouble of the separate feed back to the MET. You can then make as many ??>32A adaptors as you need to suit any situation.

Don't forget to test and keep the cert for the board safe (Just in case it's needed). Might be worth having an emergency light on it, so you can still see it if the power goes off and it's late in the day/night.

well if this is like the temporary power supply that i recently built then i can see if my phone will download some pics for you....been having trouble with the driver for it as of late....but if i can get it to put pics on here of what i did...then i will.......

Have a look in your attachments Glenn, it might still be around (you did upload some I recall).

problem here though TQ ...is the old memara board that i intended to use was dropped ...and unfortunately broke (brittle plastic)....so i have modified the unit to take a 6 way newlec (volex) board.....but the general construction hasn`t really been altered.....

To the O/P.....will take measurements n all if you like to give you an idea of how much plywood you will need and to give you an overview of the method of construction etc.....give us a few days mate......:D
