Just wondering how building control notification is sorted.

Currently, we carry out all works ourselves. Therefore building control is no issue.

But what if the electrics was subbed out? The electrician would then be responsible for notifying his electrics but how is Part A satisfied? Through the MCS firm themselves?

If you sub out would you not use a registered spark with their own registration, they can then register the job as usual, meeting part A. We've been told today to specifically mark "on roof" when our jobs a registered so Part A is covered - only problem is, it's a drop down box!

you really do need to move - Napit have had a separate drop down box for solar PV for ages to ensure it covers part A.

Solarcity - honestly I can't see how doing it that way can possibly comply, the spark would be in effect notifying building control about the roof work despite not being MCS certified for it. Obviously most won't give a ----.

How so se prove we have notified part A though?
I NAPIT for MCS and have not seen a part A box, just select photovoltaic system
which then notifies for part A and part P, as I understand it.

anyway, Napit have clearly stated several times that MCS solar installers are covered by them to notify for Part A, and have letters from the LGA on their web portal to that effect, which is good enough for me.
