Hi all,

potential kitchen rewire to do, kitchen will be stripped out, needs new ring main, not sure what height to position socket outlets since building regs M state all switch's or sockets need to be between 450mm and 1.2m above floor level, the kitchen unit tops wll be around 1.2m.

The property has an old fuse board which is virtually inaccessilble would it be ok to continue the kitchen ring from the existing 2.5mm originating from old board as accessable in the kitchen??

regards

Thanks,

Ok on height now, problem with new ring main is that the fuse board is the old rewirable type and is inaccesible due to being iin the upper far corner of a cupboard thats crammed with ducting? also the inner lining of the cupboard is asbestos. I have a feeling that the owner will not be removing the cupbaord.

Asbestos walk away that has to be dealt with by specialists before you do anything
