hi everyone would i be right in thinking that if you are requested to rewire some lights in a house without any work to the house being done building wise so not involving building control is it a requirement to install smoke alarms and ventilation as per building regs thanks as client is just interested in paying for lights

would be good advice to the client to fit smoke alarms, but if he won't pay for them........just do the lights.

i would just do eic for what you have done. the lack of smokes is not a bs7671 issue.
