Bulb mystery

Hi,
When i switch my sidelights on,they come on yet the front nearside bulb barely emits any light. How can a bulb do that? I thought that a a bulb either "works" or it doesn't.... Is it a faulty bulb or electrical problem?

Yep you're right, the bulb itself either works or it doesn't and yours is working. If it's dim then the voltage is low, 9 times out of 10 this would be caused by a poor earth or poor wiring connection. Corrosion is the common cause. Clean the contacts in the bulb holder and check any local earthing points around the area of the light fitting for rust etc.

Hi dude,have you removed the offending lamp? You may find it is simply failing,with a blackened lense :winkiss:

At this time of year bulbs do tend to go dim as they are preparing themselves ready for next years flowering season
