Discuss burglar alarms ?? in the Security Alarms, Door Entry and CCTV (Public) area at ElectriciansForums.net

Price likely to be paid?
Commercial/industrial/domestic?
What training has installer had?
What Grade of alarm system required?
Does it need remote monitoring?
Area to be covered?

Anything from ÂŁ150 up to ÂŁ2000+ to buy.
Honeywell Galaxy or Flax ranges are good, with lots of flexibility and suitable for future expansion. Not easy to set up.

It is only for a house. Need 4 pir's, 3 magnets, 1 keypad or 3 fobs and facility to connect to smartphone to alert me of activity. Installer has basic knowledge of installing alarms. Dont really want to spend much more than ÂŁ350. Guy has been looking at a Yale kit from screwfix but I wanted to know if they are any good and reliable or if there is anything better on the market

Yale from screwfix....you'll get what you pay for.

am with above, fit a wired system properly and it will never go wrong. As long as it's maintained.

good wireless systems will cost.

Response alarms are good fitted many of them
Response, yale etc from the local sheds are possible the worst on the market, as tel sates, you get what you pay for. if you want an alarm which can easily be bypass, then buy the shed systems...............Would always install a wired system everytime

My Galaxy panel has not wavered at all in 5 years.....

Visionic Powermaxx is a good wireless system. It is made by Tyco (ADT Parent Co). Agree with others though, go wired everytime if poss.

Sometimes I wonder how many of guys on here have the correct indemnity insurance, to install alarm systems. As you have a designed and installed this alarm system into you customers premises. What cover do you have, if your alarm doesn`t work, or the premises are broken into...???
