burner keeps cutting out,mystery.

I have a client who's burner keeps quitting after about 10 mins, he has an old school time clock and keeps it on 24hr but just controls it by turning the spur on and off. The stat at the burner is set to about 75 degrees. Any ideas on why it keeps cutting out? It's oil system btw.

To be honest, if you dont know what a thermo coupling is then you really should take ifindoubts advise andcall in a gas guy

My appoligies, I didnt read the O.P properly, burner=oil as opposed to boiler=gas

To be fair by saying burner he could be referring to a gas or oil burner. But as with anything best to get a expert in as it could be very dangerous for you and your customer for you to be messing with something you don't fully understand

Oil burners use a photocell to verify the burner is firing this can get dirty and shut the burner down
