Hi all,

i have had a quick search and not found much up to date info on this.

I am looking to get some business cards printed and I know vistaprint charge ÂŁ2.40 for 250 cards etc but with all these things there is a hidden cost, shipping, etc. I am looking at getting say 500 cards. Anyone done the research lately and found the cheapest deal?

Thanks loads,

Ed

Vistaprint have done OK for me. I got 2500 done about 7 years ago and some more done to a revised design in January this year. They cost about ÂŁ80 for 5000 heavyweight cards, printed colour both sides.

I work on the basis that if they're cheap enough, you can afford to hand several out to existing customers and anyone else who might be interested. If I'm in a local shop, bank, etc, I'll offer a card or two. I rarely have someone refuse to take one and even if only a few turn into a job, it's worthwhile.

I used Vista print and ÂŁ2.50 is a very basic card one sided no extra's, when you start adding gloss, double side etc it does rise but still gives a great deal. I got 500 for about ÂŁ12 all in with both sides printed.
Just go on their site and use the free design tools to make you prefered card and see what it costs, if you dont like then dont buy.

Have you seen the sticky thread for magnetic business cards
i have not used them, but think they are a great idea, if you leave one stuck to the fridge at every job you go to.
Pat least the punter won't lose them.

I usually stick a card on the CU, if there's any room left after the RCD label, the 2 colours label, the inspection label, the "no cpc on lighting" label, the "this is not a toy" label, the " warning, this product may contain nuts" label, etc.

If you use Vista print you can get a PDF proof to check your final design - there is a small charge for it when you orderr.

All I'd say is don't get too many printed at first unless you are 110% sure its correct.

I use 123 print really nice quality got 250 done , very good nice size multi coloured , now i have just got some more logged into my account looked up the cards re ordered arrived 2 days later spot on ÂŁ23.50 for 500 designed on line ill post a pic if i can

i contacted TMS mentioned on the forum.
total i paid was ÂŁ67 for 500 double sided colour printed cards including design (i had it sketched on a piece of paper)
waiting for designer to get back to me and hoping for the best.
used vista print couple of times before for my old business, yeah they were fine quality but shipping takes 2 weeks or so unless you pay extra for "fast" service.
they were send from abroad, netherlands or belgium or something like that.

can't fault vista print, i have just got 1000 more for ÂŁ28 or something, then at the end it says "do you want another 500 for ÂŁ2.50?" so i think i'm alright for cards for the next few years!

I didnt pay for fast delivery but got them within 5days ... i just assume it whether they are already got a shipment going, pot luck but yes for 12quid i cant argue at what i got, dont really use them much just easier than telling them phone and address details in my case.

^^^ same here. first 250 took about a month, next 1500 took less than a week. i think it's because everybody is tight and won't pay extra for fast delivery, which means the vistprint warehouse will be rammed with cards so they just bang em out fast delivery anyway to get rid!
