buzzing

my fuse board noticeably buzzes when my dimmer switch controlling my lounge lights is on. Any thoughts? More information available should it be necessary!

Fuseboard as in rewireable?

Loose terminal?

No. All new and tested 17th board. I just would have expected buzzing to have come from the switch if anywhere.

I've noticed this with some mcb's, something to do with the chopped up waveform of the current flowing due to the dimmer components. Nothing to worry about.

That's exactly it... Remember in the MCB you've got the thermal overload and also the electromagnetic trip solenoid - it's the electromagnet components that vibrate in sync with the current waveform - just like a loudspeaker does!
