First of all is the immersion an off peak set up ie the tank heats up overnight on cheap or half price electricity. Plus you can switch the immersion on for 6 hours but remember its temperature controlled so say it takes 1.5 hours to reach setpoint temperature then it will only cycle on off as the temperature dips then it heats it back up again so you may use 1.8 hours over a 6 hour period.

Like central heating just because it is switched on does not mean its burning fuel
 
Just get the DNO out to inspect.

The best trick for an old style meter with the spinning wheel is to put a magnet around it to slow it down..

I actually have never tried it so don't know if it works!

To be honest, i wouldn't really advise on that lol.

You'll get absolutley F'ked if you're caught.

Anyway thats only on the very very old meters, they changed the meter set up in the end - and now its digital.
