C&g 232 for career in HV

Hi all.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this question. I apologize if this it's not.

I'm hoping to change from a domestic spark and get myself a career in HV.
Most of the positions I've seen advertised stipulate City and Guilds 232 as a required qualification but I can't find any information about this course.
Is it a bit like the BESC which is required for grid work but you can't 'walk in off the street and obtain it'?

hi i have the c&g 232 but its never been any use to me!!!
you will find its been dropped by the c&g but it was used as a stepping stone to the onc if you completed part 3
which was testing methods and digital logic you could get 5 units excempted on the onc so you only had to do 5 more units

I have a question. I will be interviewing someone for the role of an electrical tech here and have no idea what the qualifications listed on the CV mean.
The main relevant one is this
"City and Guilds Electrical Engineering competencies 232 parts 1, 2 and 3" obtained in the early 90s.
Other than that, just three editions of BS7671 going back to the 16th.
Can anyone elaborate on the City and Guilds above, what it involved, duration etc?

if this person qualified over 30 years ago, the original qualifications are not that relevant
If you like the rest of the cv then talk to them, if they have actively been sparking for 30 years, there experience since then has probably taught them far more than the qualification ever did.

Are you on about the c course a few did meant another year at college but I didn't mind heap dinner fit birds bad aircuts
