Hi Guys,

Now I have been pretty fortunate since i left fulltime college in July and have had regular work via agencys as a sparks mate and am now self employed CIS Subcontracting,
However now I am back at college and level 3 is just one day per week but almost everyjob I apply for is a Mon to Fri fulltime job (Days)....

As soon as I tell em I need One day off to attend college they dont wanna know...
If to do the Level 3 course the college insists you must be employed then surely the college should run this course on an evening poss one or two nights per week....which I have mentioned but college said they wouldnt get tutors just to do night time courses...

I feel so sick....I want my qualifications but no one appears to be willing to give you a chance and take one day off to become a JIB Electrician....If i give up now I will only ever be a sparks mate and always be paid £5 per hour less for doing the same job arghhhhhhhhhhhh.

Anyone else have this problem?

So can you do the Level 3 without going to college? I really need this outta the way ASAP so I can get on gathering my NVQ level 3 In the workplace.

alrite damon did my complete 2330 levels 2 and 3 through olci currently working 50 hrs a week as a mate whilst doing the study it would prob cost £2000 not exactly sure cos the whole course cost me £5500 but just got me level 3 results distinction and 2 credits only had to take 10 days off work but you need to put the study hours in at home and it helps to buy additional study material off ebay or electricalexams.co.uk good luck

I got distinctions right thru on level 2, Dont think it makes any difference whatsoevea when you go for interview as all nthey seem to be interested in is HAVE YOU GOT 17TH Edition and CSCS/ECS Card???? And ive never been paid JIB rates yet for my grade so dunno why they insist on havn the card.........I worked bloody hard last year getting those grades and even the muppet kids at college who cudn tell the difference between twin & earth and 3 core passed...
Makes me sick!!!!!!!!!

Top right hand corner of any page on the forum is its search engine to find old posts. One that I came across by Damon is..... (no longer active, deleted)
