Hi im looking for any advice regarding the best way of attaining an nvq level 3 in the 2355 qualification or equivalent. I was on a jtl apprenticeship back in 2000 but left without completing it . So I have the 2355 nvq level 2. Basically im looking to apply for jib electrician grading . Also might be worth noting that I have been working in the industry since so have experience and couldprovide any relevant reference etc. any help would be great .

Yeah as far as I remember I just had my am2 and logbook (portfolio) to complete to gain the nvq3 .Im wwondering if there's some way to get it now without starting from scratch .

Hi mate

I used Xs training for my NVQ and theyre still delivering the NVQ 2356 LV3 for ÂŁ550 +vat if you have 2330 lv2 and 3 i think
It should have ended 31st dec but like all things with c&g as they keep saying certain quals are ending only to extend again
as far as your NVQ lv2 goes you could ask them about that and see if they can contact C&G on your behalf is it the 2356 your after because you typed 2355

they aslo deliver the newer 2357 but it seems most people are still taking up jsut the NVQ 2356 lv3
you dont need to start again just do the LV3 and that will get you your electrician status
speak to them and explain

http://www.xstraining.com/electrical-online-courses.html

they are one of the forum sponsers to the right hand side of your page

there is another private provider called Delta training but think they are slightly more expensive
or its the college route and they may not be doing 2356 anymore so would have to cross map your existing quals or start from scratch
jsut ring XS theyre sound and always respond to any questions and will help you through the process
It will Be David or Stuart probably they give you a induction and then off you go Gather the required evidence complete the portfolio and its done
if you only have lv2 then they may ask you do some Knowledge questions either full knowledge assessment or half depends on your existing quals
best speak to them and explain

good luck be quick though before C&G really do pull the plug

I am not sure of the older quals even though i had a apprenticeship in the 80s lol as i gave that up and the reason over last 3 years i have been doing courses and collecting C&G quals lol

Anyway good luck deffo get in touch with David or Staurt at Xs theyre sound and will advise you well

theyre the cheapest around for the NVQ and are always willing to help anytime of day or night as i did most of mine at nightime and my assessor David would always respond to my personal messages

when I first started it didnt have a clue but they guide you and you can break the 8 units up as you have to do about 3 total site diaries for all 8 units

I found it easier to breal it up into 24 smaller diaries for each unit
so after i had gathered the evidence and done the write ups for the POs ( personal Objectives) and the KCs (Key criticals) for each unit then i would submit

the onefile system is easy to use
you will use the onefile system online and with the work your doing will be able to cover all the 8 units

sure they will still be able to cross match your Qualifications over

Anyway good luck deffo get in touch with David or Staurt at Xs theyre sound and will advise you well
