I took the 2394+5 a while ago and failed. Not surprisingly as I had very little testing experience and was taught very little on interpretation on the readings given by the tests performed.
Still I have no idea what the readings represent which is partly my fault as I have gn3 but not read it good enough to recall the reading combined with not testing.
However I have now started a new job which requires me to test at least twice a day working on bus stops and billboards and other types of electrical advertising units. Not exactly my dream job but its ÂŁ21k, cards in and offers a level of job security -much needed when I have a two year old, a wedding to pay for and a mortgage to obtain.

It makes me wonder if c&g are actually better than the Electrical Trainee courses such as logic and EAL. In my mind no, its just a stigma attached to the name c&g making people believe it is a great thing. A bit like electricians, once highly regarded as a truly skilled tradesman but now not so highly regarded. I dunno what its like around the rest of the country but here in Manchester plasterers and scaffolders get paid more than sparks.

Rant over! Lol

Any examining or accreditation board is simply that, no more no less, it is all about who is teaching and the quality of that instruction which is important, you can get two different C&G centres which can be poles apart as far as quality of student they turn out is concerned. I say that not as a trainee electrician but as a qualified C&G Trainer and A1 assessor in other fields.

If you put effort in ... Don't think it makes different is that C&G or something else..... How much you put it that much you will get back....
