C&K C023-203 alarm fault.

I don't seem to have permission to post in the ALARM/CCTV forum for whatever reason....

Anyway, this is my home alarm installed around 1995 I would have thought.

I have zero professional experience in this area.

It keeps going off when we are out, zone 3 seems to be on all the time and I cannot get any of the other zones to light up even though the PIR's do. Am correct in thinking they should?

I will get the ladders out tomorrow and find the backup battery, probably in the bell box?

And the bell box is very badly worn so can I exchange it for something like this?

Also the bell test function does not work 'code *9' if that is related.

What is on zone 3, a pir door contact..?
The only time zone lights will come on, i when system is armed or in test.

PIR taz, I have no idea which is zone 3.

I'll arm it tomorrow and find out.

Faulty PIR do you think?

Sounds like a faulty pir, conduct a walk test, that will show what detector is where

Do you know if the bell boxes are pretty universal?

Virtually all are universal with all panels, and most come with common panel connections

New and old.

Bell box replaced, and while the power was off and the battery disconnected all seems well with the PIR. I'll take it back to edy's.
