Hiya guys, Whan you do a Board change What do you put on the cert? I have done a board change and then tested every circuit, Do I put all the readings on an Installation cert or a PIR cert?

Yes :)

There is also a section where you can comment on the existing installation.

I would do a P.I.R first cos when I change the board I dont then want to be faced with unforseen problems like.

Open circuit protective conductor continuity
Open circuit ring conductors
Borrowed neutrals [ Specially if upgrading to RCD Board ]
poor insulation resistance [ Specially if upgrading to RCD Board ]
etc. etc.
Better to find out beforehand then no problems with client
Yes Chargeable ,but an All in price job.

So let me get this right,, u go to a property and do a full pir test lets say it takes u half a day. and you bill ÂŁ150 for that , then u go back and change board on another day,, how much do u charge for that (ÂŁ350?)

So you would Issue a PIR cert and then put all the readings again on a EIC after the board change

similar to what I do mate..... do all your tests first, apart from Zs's and RCD then once CU swapped and switched on you 'should' have no issues, then it's just a case of doing your Zs's and RCD's:)

Like you say all in the price ÂŁ350'ish total, days work, happy days.

And then issue an EIC stating consumer unit upgrade

I made the mistake of not doing a pir before a board change. What I had taken to be the ring circuits turned out to be 2 radial circuits per 32a fuse. I had also missed a hidden third radial circuit fed into one of the fuses.
Live and learn, not doin that again cos the board that I had supplied didnt have enough ways on it.
