Morning fellas,

Got two military style, temporary storage cabins to wire up next week. They are mild steel, wooden floored, 4m x 2m x 2.5m high cabins. Only need one double socket and one fluro plus switch per cabin.

Now they are not joined, but are set apart by about a meter and are located underneath some standard pallet racking where they are being used as a chemical store, and a publicity store. they are roughlocated about 5 meters away from the nearest supply DB and the gap from DB to racking needs to be bridged with some aerial mounted trunking.

The plan was to install a 5 way, metal clad to the nearest cabin external wall, fed by some 4mm SWA (42amps) on a 32amp type B at supply board. Then two x 16amp 30ma radials for each sockets and 2 x 6amp mcbs for the two fluros. Single entry through each cabin via roof into 2 inch trunking then make off to socket, switch and light once inside. Cable tray bridging the gap between the cabins housing the cable.

Question is, i am planning on just using 2.5mm and 1.5mm arctic flex, as i have an abundance in the store, but hate flex as i can never get the bugger stuff neat in the board as it has no rigidity but don;t feel it necessary to really use anything else.

Thoughts?

Does the mild steel need bonding?

I'll bond it all back to MET yes. It's a bit of a silly question really as its just a hiding to nothing essentially, just wondered what people's opinions were on alterantives to flex. Singles i guess would be an option is its all in trunking.

What chemicals?? As this could be the biggest influence on how and what you can, and can't use in this storage unit!!

Ahh - i was hoping someone would come forward and say that. Non-flammable classifed liquids in a non-explosive atmosphere. So i didn't see any immediate issue, but was curious al the same.

Will only be a storeage heater in there and a light.
